Bluetooth headphones suddenly stopped working on PC

Using my newly bought bluetooth adapter for the first time, it seemed to work properly while i was gaming, then i switched from the game to listen to music on youtube, switched back to the game and suddenly the audio is gone, at that point only the game was not playing any audio, i tried to tick off the "exclusive" audio on the headset properties but that did nothing, now there's just no audio being played anywhere in the PC, the videos are lagging when the headphones are connected, the headphones also are now "acting strange" AKA not turning off when i press the button, they are working perfectly fine on my phone though, help?????
