How people react to Aventus/Club de nuit intense? Is it as mass appealing as some people claim?

I had very mixed reactions when I asked people to smell Aventus/Club de nuit intense from my hand. I had no spontaneous compliments.

At the same time I sometimes get compliments for other fragrances and many of them get consistent good feedbacks when I ask for it directly.

Is Aventus really that good? Especially for dating and meeting ladies?
