What Underwear Do You Wear Under Leggings?
So like many, I live in leggings a lot of the time and I'm curious about what everyone does for under legging underwear!
I’ve tried them all, and here’s a breakdown of the pros and cons for me:
1️⃣ Commando (No Underwear)
✅ Pretty good breathability—nothing digging in or causing lines
✅ No worries about visible panty lines (VPL).
❌ Sweat absorption isn’t great, and some fabrics feel too revealing.
❌ Leggings with synthetic blends might trap moisture, which isn’t ideal for hygiene.
2️⃣ Organic Cotton Underwear (My personal favorite!)
✅ Super breathable and moisture-wicking—keeps things fresh all day.
✅ Natural, non-irritating fabric (great for sensitive skin).
✅ Absorbs sweat without trapping bacteria like synthetics.
✅ Comfortable and soft—especially high-rise styles that don’t roll down.
❌ Some styles might show panty lines, but lower coverage cotton options help (favorite is the la coochie mid rise thong)
3️⃣ High-Rise vs. Mid-Rise
✔️ High-Rise: Stays in place, smooths the waist, and works well with high-waisted leggings.
✔️ Mid-Rise: Good if you don’t want extra coverage, but might shift more during movement.
4️⃣ Seamless vs. Regular
✅ Seamless Underwear: Reduces panty lines, but…
❌ Most seamless options are synthetic (nylon, polyester), which trap heat and moisture.
❌ Less breathable = higher chance of irritation and odor.
5️⃣ Waistband: Elastic vs. Non-Elastic
✅ Non-Elastic Waistbands: Total game-changer! No pinching, no digging in, and no muffin top lines under leggings (Top pick: La Coochie High Rise Thong).
✅ Soft, stretchy fabric bands lie flat and feel like a second skin.
❌ Harder to find, but worth it for all-day comfort!
❌ Elastic waistbands dig in and create unflattering lines under leggings
If you want comfort, breathability, and a waistband that won’t dig in, organic cotton with a soft, non-elastic waistband is the way to go.
Top Picks:
Mid Rise Thong
High Rise Thong
Mid Rise Brief (if you're not a thong wearer)
