The direction of the game

Honestly I think my core issue with ck3 is it’s focus on the role players, not that roleplaying is a bad way to play, it’s just that it was most fun to role play when you just had to think of your in-game actions through the lense of a real person and not have the game do it for you.

They keep adding mechanics that pull you away from the map, which is the thing I need and want to be looking at most (besides like character stuff and inheritance, I don’t want to manage a weird sims court mechanic that pulls me away every so often to boost my legitimacy, I don’t want to do some weird traveling mechanic that means I have to pay attention to a completely different screen so I can succeed at hosting a tournament, I don’t want to manage a weird off map household (unless I am completely unlanded then it kind of makes sense). I never played much ck2 with dlc, but from what I’ve learned the game is just inferior to ck2 mechanically, the biggest one I’ve noticed is warrior lodges (and non pagan equivalent).

The only thing that stops me from going to ck2, is that ck3 has demonstrably better UI and ease of use, nested tooltips and its UI design are just better, and it makes a world of difference but the game is multiple years old now and it’s not even feature parity with the previous game.
