I fasted for 3 days without food or water, and maintain the day fasts to this day. AMA
Last year, I did a fast for 3 days without food or water. What was interesting about it were two things:
- It came out sudden and was not planned at all.
- And it was a the 3rd day of the month.
The number has always fascinated me, and have seen it a lot last year, in waking life as well as in dreams. I took it as sign, which obviously, it was due to the fact that the entire time I was helped to carry it on.
During the entire 72 hours I never thought of food or water. I simply carried out my day as usual. But I was amazed that the body simply understood why it had to be done. I have spoken to other people, what I lived rarely happens, if at all.
When the decision to do so was made, I had a thought came into my mind, which was something similar to "prove it, if you say". And so, it was decided.
Interestingly, after it was done, after 72 hours, I didn't feel the need to eat either. It was approximately 74+ hours. Those last two hours I simply thought.. "is it done?" Probably would have worked longer, thought I did not want to risk it. I fulfilled my end, and that was that. With water, of course, it would have gone longer.
Afterwards I maintained 24 hour fasts every day. I'm not sure what they are called, or even if they have a name. I eat once a day, afterwards I drink water, and that is all until the next day. With nothing in between.
