Tourists are very clustered in Bangkok

Bangkok/Middle

There is this large open area down a backstreet from Huai Khwang night market. Sometimes they have special events like there a music festival or food market, or sometimes it's just an open space of nothing. When I've walked there during the food festival, I've never seen even one foreigner in that area. I was walking around at midnight and was surprised at how bustling it was.

I feel like foreigners have no way to even know about these events. I'm sure tourists would have liked to visit that food market because the food is good and cheap, but they will still all end up at Jodd Fairs.

To a certain extent, I also feel like this is the case with other permanent food markets as well (like the one near the big bus station).

I wonder wonder if it will stay this way forever. Maybe with the advent of the internet, there will be easier ways for English speakers to find these events. That said, maybe Thai people like having no foreigners around?
