Admin Path - BA Questions

Hi,

I'm a community college student who hopes to move into IT Technician, Systems Admin, or Network Admin roles. I understand certificates mainly matter and college isn't required, but I enjoy education and would prefer to have a BA than not. I'm currently on track to transfer into a Comp Sci program at a University of California (UCI, UCR, or UCSC), but I'm realizing this is probably not the most useful degree type for IT/Admin work.

Basically, I'm wondering if Technology and Information Management B.S. at UCSC is a good degree fit for me, or if it's too focused on management and business to be relevant? Frankly, I'm a little confused by the half dozen variations on IT majors, particularly because CSUs and UCs don't seem to offer traditional IT, Networking, or Information Systems majors... I hear good things about CIS programs, but it appears only CalState LA offers such, and the school looks sad and is rather loud (highway), so I kinda feel stuck.

Any further context in this regard, school or program or major recommendations are truly appreciated! I'd rather leverage the UC system if I can, because I have a near perfect GPA, but I'll go to any Uni that'll help the most.

Thanks in advance!
