Title: Best friends for years, but suddenly… something’s changed?
So, my best friend (M27) and I (F25)have known each other for about 6-7 years. We’ve always been close, but we’ve never been single at the same time—until now.
We both recently got out of serious relationships. I split from my partner, and his partner left him. In the past, we would do things as couples and hang out all together, but now, it’s just us. Up until this week, things have felt normal—our usual friendly banter, laughing, just being ourselves. But now… something’s shifted.
Lately, our conversations have gotten more flirty, and the energy between us feels different. There’s been some heated exchanges, but not in a bad way—it’s almost electric. And the weird part? It doesn’t feel unnatural. It actually feels kind of right.
I’m torn. Is this just a rebound thing, given that we’re both fresh out of relationships? Or is it possible that something real has been sitting under the surface all these years, and we’re just now realizing it?
Would love to hear thoughts, especially from anyone who’s been in a similar situation!
