Has any culture, civilisation, book mentioned about resetting of weekdays ?

Hi, I am trying to find if there is any mention of resetting of weekdays i.e Sunday, Monday etc, in any culture, books.

My closest to getting an answer is that, the weekdays has to be reset , whenever sun rises in the first degree on Aries. This means that the weekday has to be reset every year. For purposes of syncing the calendar with different regions. (I can explain the syncing concept in another post)

Now, before we address the resetting of the days, we need to conclude the order of sequence of days.

The most logical answer on the sequence of days - Sunday , Monday is this

Statement 1: Arrange planetary luminaries by speed (planetary luminaries are luminary objects in sky, which move against the static star system). So we have the following arrangement

Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon. With Saturn being slowest, and Moon being fastest.

Statement 2: Divide time between sunrise to next sunrise into 24 equal parts. Name each parts sequentialy in the order mentioned in Statement 1.

So now when we divide 24 by 7, there is going to be a remainder of 3. Which means a day which starts on, say the hour of Saturn, ends with the hour of Mars. So on the next day Sunrise happens on the hour of sun. So that day is called the day of the sun.

Note: Day Start means Sunrise, Day end means the hour before the next sunrise.

• Day 1: Day starts on the hour of Saturn, Day ends (hour just before sunrise) on the hour of Mars
  • since we are arranging 24 hours in the sequence as in Statement 1
• Day 2 : Day starts with SUN, ends with MERCURY
• Day 3: Day starts - MOON, ends with JUPITER
• Day 4: Day starts - MARS, ends with VENUS
• Day 5: Day starts - MERCURY, ends with SATURN
• Day 6: Day starts - JUPITER, ends with SUN
• Day 7, Day starts - VENUS, ends with MOON
• Day 8, Day starts - SATURN, Ends with MARS

Off all the books I had read, the above seems the most logical to the sequence of days. As you know, day of mars is Tuesday, mercury is Wednesday, Jupiter is Thursday, Venus is Friday.

Statement 3: Now, when the sun moves to the the sign on Aries, (around April 14th), the first hour of the new day, becomes the hour of the Sun. By this Statement the weekday sequence gets reset. This was mentioned using 3-4 words in a book, I read long back.

People of the tropics followed the calendar of the Moon, people of higher latitudes followed the sun (12 months), people of the sea followed the week system. Something to do with finding a shore within 7 days.

I am trying to find some validation on the resetting of weekdays. When Sir Gregory the Pope, changed the calendar, to sync the season with Month, did we loose the system of resetting the weekdays.
