Should I be concerned?
I’ve had basically no appetite for an entire week, loose diarrhea everyday, extreme nausea, and now my stools are full of thick mucus and have black chucks all throughout (sorry if tmi but I’m hoping someone can relate). I’ve also noticed a bit of an odour (I often get smelly bowel movements but I notice the smell every time I just go to the bathroom now even without a bowel movement). I also have bad abdominal cramping.
Some backstory:
- I am in remission from crohns
- I’ve also been diagnosed with IBS, gastroparesis, and GERD
- I ended up in urgent care in June for crippling pain (similar symptoms to now but I was having almost like heart attack pain) and they suspected peptic ulcer
- fast forward couple of weeks and I had a endoscopy and I had 2 large lesions and “excess mucus” in my esophagus.
- been taking metocomploride and pantoprozale since this scope and for a couple months I was feeling so good, I could eat and have normal non diarrhea bowel movements but now i dont know what’s going on
I guess my question is, should I go to urgent care or just contact my GI team? I have a follow up appointment in a few months scheduled but I wonder if that’s too long to wait.
I should also note this week has been very tough mentally on me as I started a new job in a new city and tomorrow happens to be my mothers birthday and she passed a few years ago. Needless to say I’ve been overwhelmed and sad
