vita not charging

so, my PS vita won't charge I plugged it in like I normally do and the orange light isn't turning on I tried different outlets and it still won't charge the orange light came on for not even 1 second then it turned off I've only had the system for 12 days and besides the low battery warning (which doesn't happen anymore) I've had zero problems with the vita I just tried again in a different outlet and the same thing happened the light came on then turned off is this a common issue with the system if so do I buy a new charger or what I have all the cables plugged in and I looked and the charging cable and port aren't damaged
