Is this ‘hot and cold’ dynamic normal?

I’m a Cancer female, 39. Dated an Aries for 8 months, he broke up with me 3 times; the first and second he came back the next day acting like nothing happened, and the last one I stopped talking to him except for work reasons and he tried to get all cozy, sweet and offered sex. I said yes, before we made plans I broke a bone and went through surgery, he sent me money and no follow up texts or calls. I finally went out of my house yesterday, stopped by his work, he waved and smiled but didn’t move. Am I crazy for feeling ignored/rejected? I felt we were at least friendly, now I feel I don’t exist anymore.
