Need some colour help!

Hello,

I've recently moved out and i'm setting up my living room. Through a number of poor decisions i've ended up with a grey blob for a room!

I still have some opportunities to add in some colour with the curtains, potentially a rug and some throws/cushions. The problem is I have no idea what colours to use! I'd like to make the room warm and inviting.

I was thinking a blue rug to break up the sofa from the carpet as it'll go with the wood furniture, and maybe orange/red curtains?

I'm planning to add some more lamps, plants, TV and art on the walls - but it just feels like theres a complete lack of vibrance in the room. The giant computer chair will be going eventually too.

Any colour, rug (or basically any) suggestions would be appreciated. I can change practically anything except for the god awful carpet sadly.
