Is the AF a good option compared to Coast Guard

Hi all my son is 18 and has been taking about joining the Space force the last 2 years of high school. My husband mainly pushed him to join the Coast Guard once he finished school last year. Even though he was apprehensive on joining the USCG he thought it would still be a good opportunity. He recently went to CG Bootcamp after much headache with a rate in Operations Spec. (He wanted intelligence or IT but no open jobs) but is getting medically separated for dental work. He has to come home and remediate his filling within 6 months to return and start boot all over. This is news to me as a a Navy vet dental was remediated in Bootcamp and off base. He expressed that he wants to consider going AF once he returns given his experience with the CG process. Any prior service or active duty members have a thought on AF career and life?
