Should I invest on expensive headphones for daily use?

I'm not an audiophile, and I usually buy $50 models as average, wired 50mm that cover my big ears. They all often end lasting for 2-3years max and breaking by the headband section closer to its base, or when its cable gets twisted and breaks out of use.

At this point, I'm a bit tired of the situation, so I wonder if you guys ever suffered the same problem

Which headphones would you recommend me?
