Currently taking 2MLs of .020% Finasteride Topical x3 a week, which puts my total exposure at 1.2mg of Fin a week, Would I just be better off quartering a 1mg pill and taking that 4 days a week? Am I overthinking this or missing something?
Basically the title.
I went the topical route initially because I'm leery of the side effects related to finasteride, and so far I've had none, but after some reading, I'm realizing my weekly exposure may be higher doing it the way I have (and a greater pain in the ass to apply) than just quartering a 1mg pill and taking it 4 days a week.
I guess the only reason I am debating this, is because I've been unsure if I've been applying the fin correctly, (just to my localized thinning area) and I figure if quartering a pill will result in the same exposure anyways to the amount I've been exposing myself to topically, So I may as well just eat a pill and be sure it's done correctly and I can control quartered oral titrations over time the same as topical.
Does that make sense? or am I missing something? Does applying topically prevent systemic load allowing for higher doses and 1mg orally would effect me differently then systemic exposure of 1.2mg topical equivalent?
I just want to make sure it's working, because I'm on 2.5mg of Min oral daily and I've definitely started the dread shred phase.
