Genuine Question. With all of the hullabaloo about the upcoming Kindle/Amazon changes..
Why is nobody wanting to just keep buying the books, from amazon (so the author gets money), but then just get the book from another source as a 'backup', instead of using the 'download kindle book with usb' or whatever its called thing...
If you bought the book digitally (just like with any other digital thing you buy, games, movies, etc) you do not 'own' it...you are just buying a license for it. So, if you buy it...what is wrong with just downloading it elsewhere as a 'backup'?
Just seems to me that the current process is way more convoluted than any other way of backing up your purchases..
