Best Buy had another restock of RTX 5090 FE today...
So, like many of you I assume the last few days has been an emotional rollercoaster.
Every mass I've attended at my local Catholic church this week has been packed with scalpers and their families trying to receive financial help from parishioners and praying that rumors of 5090 restocks and "excess B200 TSMC yields going to RTX 50 production" are nothing but hoaxes. ππΌ
In all seriousness, yeah there was another restock at Best Buy this morning for the 5090 FE... though calling it a restock imo would be an insult to restocks. Same old story from launch day, from "Coming Soon" to "Sold Out" in one second, and even if you managed to get into the "queue" I'm sure 99.9%+ were rejected.
I did manage to "pass" the queue to the text verification step of the gag at one point, only to be told the item was, of course, unavailable. I really don't see this situation getting much better if this kind of stock trickle is what NVIDIA and AIBs have planned for the foreseeable future. It would take an absolutely massive avalanche of inventory to make a dent in this problem, at least imo.
Even if the margins slip under double MSRP for scalpers (which they will eventually), they will still make MORE than enough on each card to continue this silliness for months, maybe even close to a year at this rate of stock replenishment. It's pretty bad when buying a massively overpriced prebuilt off Newegg or a similar site is probably your BEST bet of getting this card without resorting to a scalper.
Godspeed, and happy gaming to anyone who managed to get one, or at least get an order in. I've seen some pics, so I know y'all are out there. π1οΈβ£ Looking forward to seeing some cool 5090 rig pics.
