Switching medications

Hi everyone, sorry in advance if this post isn’t allowed I’ll delete it if not.

I have been prescribed Temazepam for insomnia but it doesn’t help my night time panic attacks. In fact it’s often a hit or miss on if it even works to put me to sleep.

I really want to switch to Ativan after reading reviews on it but I’m nervous to bring it up at my next appointment because of being rejected or looking like I’m drug seeking. I just really want to sleep and not get woken up gasping for air. Is there a way I can bring it up to my psychiatrist? Thank you.
