My employer cut my hours while pregnant (NY)

Employment Law

Hello everyone! So some context to the issue. I am a hairdresser and I work at a commission salon. I am a w2 employee though! I have worked there for 3.5 years. The salon only has 12 employees including the owner/my boss and myself. I recently found out I was pregnant and shared the news with my boss and coworkers. Everyone was happy for me and celebrated me except my boss.! Her response was "I figured". My partner and I had been trying for a year before actually getting pregnant. Recently I have been having a really hard time in my first trimester and I have had to miss work a couple of days. I also had the flu last week so I was out for a week. All of these missed days I have had a doctors note!! Today I had a really bad migraine and I can no longer take proper meds due to my pregnancy so I got a doctors note and sent it to her via text. Her response was that she was going to be cutting my hours in half and taking me down to two days a week and informed me that she would take me down to one if I called in again. Regardless of doctors notes. She also said she can't go through 9 months of rescheduling my clients. Specifically referencing my pregnancy as being the issue. All in all, is this legal.? Can she cut my hours almost down to nothing? It feels like she is pushing me out so that I will quit vs. Being fired so that I cannot collect unemployment. She said "I will not let you go, I will just keep minimizing your hours." Am I just hormonal and sensative or is what she is doing uncalled for and illegal?
