LF 3 - 420mm outside of the case question

Hi, new to liquid cooling. Been using NH-D15 for the most part of my life. I’d like to try aio cooling to see how more silent it can be. Always been afraid of AIOs due to the risk of leaking and ruining the whole system but willing to take a chance now.

Am currently planning to do a push pull config with the arctic p14 max on the liquid freezer 3 - 420mm.

My case is a fractal torrent, arguably one of the best aircooling cases which is also why i bought it in the first place. I don’t really want to remove the front 180mm fans because they do help the GPU quite a bit. Was wondering if installing the AIO in a dock outside, taking the wires/pump out through the back of the case, would have any side effects such as extra noise, less performance due to less cool air from lack of case fans, etc.
