CAN I cross the US border (driving) with my G1 license?

Driving over to the US border soon ...

My passport is expired and because of other external reasons I will not be renewing my passport for a while until I get some stuff back from Thunder Bay. I don't wanna get a temporary passport unless it's a last resort...

I don't have a Enhanced Driver's License (Cuz they don't exist anymore)

Is my Birth certificate and G1 license enough???
