Cat has tapeworms, how do I handle cleaning the litter box and apartment?

Tagged NSFW for mention of gross worm stuff. I grew up with cats, this is my first time having one myself. Have had him for about a year, he's strictly indoors... found a tapeworm segment near his anus this evening. Scheduled a vet appointment for the 22nd, so that's handled, but I was wondering how much cleaning/disinfecting should be done after. How much do I clean the litter box? He frequents the couch, what do I use to clean that? Should I just tackle the whole apartment? He kind of lounges everywhere. Any recommendations for products or techniques? I'm kind of panicking and feel so bad for my little guy, and a little sick just from seeing that worm myself. Help!!!
