Do the events of the past actually repeat in a way?

Does Chappy actually die when Takopi reverses what has happened (with the happy camera) and they go back to the day Shizuka and Takopi take that photo. Since Chappy actually is taken to the shelter later in the day or a day after they take the photo and I think Marina and Shizuka sort of became friends by that time (?)

Also additionally does takopi actually die as well since takopi just uses his happy power to use the camera a last time so he's kind of like in the atmosphere right ?? 😭 I mean he is narrating for the last chapter.
