Help me please

I took a fall while playing basketball 10 days ago. It felt like a slight back strain for 7 days, and then boom it flared up all through my left leg. It’s so painful I can’t walk or stand for more than 30 seconds. My big toe is numb basically all the time.

I’ve since got an X-ray and MRI done.

The MRI results:

IMPRESSION:

  1. Degenerative changes at L5-S1 contribute to mild left and moderate right neural foraminal narrowing as well as suspected mass effect on the descending left S1 nerve root.

  2. No significant spinal canal stenosis.

FINDINGS:

Alignment: Slight reversal of the normal lumbar lordosis.

Vertebral body heights and marrow: Mild anterior wedging of L1 and L2 vertebral bodies without significant edema. Multilevel endplate degenerative changes most pronounced at L2-L3. Conus medullaris: Normal, terminating at L1. Soft tissues: Normal.

At T12-L1: No significant spinal canal stenosis or neuroforaminal narrowing.

At L1-L2: No significant spinal canal stenosis or neuroforaminal narrowing.

At L2-L3: No significant spinal canal stenosis or neuroforaminal narrowing.

At L3-L4: No significant spinal canal stenosis or neuroforaminal narrowing.

At L4-L5: Disc bulge eccentric to the left and facet arthropathy contribute to mild left neural foraminal narrowing. No significant spinal canal stenosis.

At L5-S1: Disc bulge and facet arthropathy contribute to mild left and moderate right neuroforaminal narrowing and slight effacement of the ventral CSF space. Effacement of the lateral recesses with suspected mass effect on the left S1 nerve root

The doctor hasn’t reviewed the results with me, but this seems like Sciatica to me.

The pain is so bad tonight that even laying in bed is excruciating, I’ve already takin a Norco (first one) and it’s had no effect. I don’t know what to do.

I’ve tried stretching and pulling my knee to my chest, does nothing.

I’m also trying not to let my mind spiral, but it’s hard to keep out the doom and gloom. I’ve never had to experience anything like this. Please hit me with all tips and tricks, and any encouragement. I really need it right now.
