Why is this man a good president to you?

I see a lot of debate about the current president and his policies, and I’m genuinely curious—why do some people think he’s doing a good job?

From my perspective, many of his executive orders seem less about governing and more about consolidating power. A president should serve the people, not position themselves as an authority above the democratic system. When we look at history, leaders who rapidly push through executive orders that limit rights, suppress opposition, and centralize control tend to follow a path that leads away from democracy and toward authoritarianism.

Take, for example, policies that restrict voting rights, limit freedom of the press, or give law enforcement broader unchecked power—these are hallmarks of a government that prioritizes control over the will of the people. A truly good leader should work with the legislative branch to pass laws that reflect public interest, rather than bypassing the system through unilateral executive action.

Fascist-leaning policies have never benefited the general population in the long run. They thrive on fear, division, and the idea that only a strongman can "fix" things—often at the expense of individual freedoms. Historically, this has led to economic instability, suppression of dissent, and a society where rights are conditional on loyalty rather than being guaranteed for all.

So, if you support this president, I’d love to hear your reasoning. Do you believe these executive orders are truly in the best interest of democracy, or do you think they risk moving us toward an era of reduced freedoms? Let’s discuss.
