You know I'm gunna say it. But charge blade just doesn't feel fun/hefty anymore.
I'm counting down the days till release eagerly to play since the betas so in the meantime I've been doing new games on worlds and risebreak and it's really giving me some fomo regarding the new CB in wilds. I had a blast with every other weapon and they feel amazing but I think wilds will be the first game since the charge blades addition it won't be my main (which isn't an entirely a bad thing) but I feel CB is in a weird space at the moment. It has a lot of great new additions with the focus mode, wounding and perfect guard but there's a few things that just don't feel right to me and I'm sure there are some that agree and some that disagree. The most common is the AED to SAED. It ruins the flow of the weapon and in sure you will say "ahh but now it's just less saed spam" well yeah, but now it's just savage axe spam. You look at any speedrun video or even just normal timed kills, I am yet to see one saed implemented. It's almost allways better to just savage axe while the monster is downed. Now that the phials last longer a lot of people are just in axe mode all the time. Give us the option if we want to play savage then cool, do so. If we want to Play SAED then please give us that option.
Another silly nitpick is I don't like the new shorter shield charge, it feels clunky and just added in for a shortened charge time. I still prefer the old way as it feels a lot smoother and easier to combo into and out of.

The weapon just feels dull to me at this stage, playing previous games is making me realize every weapon has gone uphill in their new iterations and changes but CB has gone downhill. Just my opinion I'm hoping this gets amended in final release but I'm not confident it will. I would love to hear some thoughts if you are happy with its state or feel it needs some changes

Tldr; Every new weapon iteration feels great, but CB just feels off in wilds.

All weapons feel great, except...
