Toyota has owed me money for over a year now that I have yet to receive. How to approach?

I returned a car to Toyota over a year ago, and received a letter in the mail a month ago notifying me I will be receiving a check of about $1,000 for the warranty I purchased. It took me calling and being redirected a great many times until I could speak to someone in financial services (the number provided in the letter), and even then they redirected me to the bank I’d originally done my financing through. When I tried speaking to the bank, I reached a dead end. Trying to reach them is essentially impossible, and I’d been told by the financial division to give it another two months until I expected to receive my money! But that was just a guess on how long it’ll take once I arrange to receive the check! I wasn’t provided written info, tracking info, etc (basically nothing to show I’ve actually had the check be sent out). The letter essentially says they tried sending me the money in September 2024 (about a year after I returned the car) and it has yet to be cleared. I never received this check or any communication besides this letter telling me I was owed money. The letter says I have to reach out to make arrangements to receive my money, but the number I’m supposed to call claims they don’t deal with those matters and the bank they told me to reach out to is MIA. This is a thousand dollars I am owed. How can I approach this from a legal perspective? I’m in Texas.
