I reached out to my ex
My ex and I broke up 8 months ago. Once classes started up again I saw him constantly around campus. It was absurd how often we would run into each other. I took it as a sign that maybe the relationship could be rekindled
I told him that I still had feelings for him.
However, I didn't handle it well. It was 2 months post breakup and I was still emotional and so adamant about getting him back in my life. I didn't force myself into his life but I did greet him whenever I passed by. This went on for about 2 months until I realized how absurd I was being
I had stopped interacting with him in November because I was embarrassed, but I recently felt the urge to reach out and apologize for my behavior. It's only been a few days, but I feel as if a lot of the tension is gone
Apparently reaching out for closure isn't really the healthiest thing to do, and I'm not encouraging it at all, but in my situation it seemed like the right choice
It hadn't gone the way I thought it would. I was expecting my ex to be pissed at me but he wasn't at all. He accepted my apology and I really do have peace now. I forgot what lead up to a comment he made, but my ex told me that I could text him if I wanted to. I surprised myself by saying that I probably wouldn't (especially with my adamance a few months prior). Even though I still miss my best friend, I said that I wanted him to initiate and reach out first so it wasn't one-sided
I felt strong and really confident after that encounter with my ex, and even though closure may not be the best choice, it worked for me and I'm glad
