Knicks have won 11 of their last 14 and this subreddit is acting like season's over and we are ass and Thibs is a bottom 5 coach.
Haven't beaten OKC Cleveland or Boston. Yeah sucks whatever. We've beaten literally all the other good teams, we're 37 - 20 a year after going 50 - 32 and making it to the 2nd round. Call it coping but those top 3 teams are on fire from 3P range from us and part of it is random noise (Boston doesn't shoot 50% on wide open 3s yet they hit 50% contested against us every time).
Zero patience left in sports. Lose 2 in a row? Fire Thibs. Mikal trade was terrible. Can't win with KAT on D (meanwhile our offense is historically good). You are the most insufferable and dumb fans who think we need to make drastic changes after every two game losing streak. Who did Thibs hurt in your life? But I guess the loud and dumb idiots in all fan bases are similar, Warriors fans think Kerr is the worst, Nuggets hate Malone, hell even some in Miami probably want to move on from Spo.
There are no quick-fix coaching changes that will put this team over the top. They'll beat Cleveland and Boston and hopefully nab at least one championship over the next 4 years by continuing to grind and get better every day. The Knicks are not a Mark Jackson / Steve Kerr situation, Thibs clears Jackson by a mile, he is a 2x COTY winner who gets the most out of his players. Which they've already done a ton of over the last two years.
All this work to build the team from 20 years of garbage into a fringe contender just to fire the coach now? Getting to here given where we were 4 years ago is a miracle. It's hard. And making the final leap from fringe contender to actually winning the title is the hardest part. Canning the coach at this point would be a huge setback.
Coaches get fired when they lose the locker room. Jalen, Josh, KAT and the rest of the team all seem to love playing for Thibs. This is the squad we roll with. If you can't take a tough loss or two without breaking down crying really go root for another team, I hear the Kings change coaches every 18 months, you will love it rooting for them.
