Boring team meetings
I work in CMH as a therapist which is exhausting sometimes. Even more exhausting and boring are these team meetings where we all sit in a circle and stare at each other. Sometimes it’s just boring pointless updates that I could’ve been informed of during weekly supervision. A lot of times I just don’t have questions during supervision or team meetings. In which I feel like it becomes silent and awkward where they ask “anyone have anything?” And we all shake our heads and stare at each other. And I’m left thinking about how during that hour I could’ve had more useful time reading a book, learning a new technique or strategy, or just something more useful with my time. Sure maybe I shouldn’t complain but it’s boringggggg. Anyone experience this? I mean I already have supervision which sometimes can be boring. I just feel my time could even be used for notes or something more than awkward silence and crickets… 🦗🤦♀️ Another week of “hey everyone let’s stare at each other for a full hour.” I remember at one point my supervisor goes “so how are things going” and I’m like “other than being sick, good” and she goes “no I mean with your people.” Like isn’t that what I have supervision for? So I can discuss that? Why are we also doing this in a team meeting? Yikes! 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ Also can we normalize asking each other how we are doing and not just always asking about OTHER people? Therapists are humans too!!!
