Health Insurance / US student studying abroad

My daughter has been accepted into 2 schools in the UK so far but not got into any of the US ones she applied to, so it looks like she's headed to Europe.

anyone else with experience of this know what happens re health insurance? I know the NHS in the UK covers you - I grew up there - I believe as an overseas student you have to pay something towards it though, and then does she come off my family plan in the US at the same time?
