how’s your experience with using comforts for you anxiety that you used as a child?
i talked to my therapist about reoccurring anxiety attacks every other day that cause physical symptoms and how i had panic attacks as a child but they went away for a long period (about middle school to end of high school.) then i lost my daughter and my anxiety has just crashed back into my life ten fold. affecting my daily life and my future because im finding myself having to walk out of class in fear that i am going to die/faint. she asked what comforted me as a kid when i had these panic attacks. i know stuffed animals and Disney movies/baby shows always helped me calm down. water too. I don’t know how I feel about bringing a stuffy with me all the time as an adult (23f) but I might carry one in my backpack. Also to maybe start watching Disney movies or cartoons again. im supposed to start Prozac soon. I wonder if this helps anybody else? connecting with their childhood comforts to ease their anxiety.
