How to tell your bf (29M) that you don’t like his haircut (27F)

Hi, myself (27F) and boyfriend (29M) have been together for nearly a year now and things are going great! I love him to pieces and I really enjoy spending time with him.

So when we started dating, his hair was quite long, I guess in the style of a mullet and I actually loved it! He had his mullet for months when we started dating and recently he’s opted for a buzz cut. He briefly mentioned to me he was going to do this and I said it’s his hair, his choice. I would love him either way (cringe I know). Well fast forward 4 months, my feelings haven’t changed about him but I’m starting to notice that this hairstyle doesn’t suit him at all, I understand he doesn’t want to grow his hair long again but I just don’t know how to tell him.

I know it’s not the end of the world but I just think it would suit him so much better with his hair longer on top. I have told him briefly that I would prefer his hair a bit longer on the top but I would feel so awful if I knew I hurt his feelings.

Any ideas? Am I being awful for saying this? Thanks guys!
