How does Facebook dating work ? I (F32) thinks my bf (M37) may have one ?

My sister has an active facebook dating profile and she showed me my Boyfriend’s profile on there. It only had his current facebook picture, location and age and no other pictures and no other content . I confronted him about it and he said Facebook automatically creates one for facebook users. I use facebook but I don’t have a dating profile. I haven’t spoken to him since and neither has he maybe because i insulted him. I don’t care because i am upset. My question is, is he being honest? Does fb automatically sign you up ? Why will his profile have one picture (his current fb picture) with his location and age? Thank you.
