Do y’all ever just walk up to a woman and ask for her number?

Just what the title says, like walk up to a complete stranger, say hey, talk to her, ask for her name, her number, etc.? I ask because at 28 years old I’ve only done that maybe…once in my life? And that was when I was a teen. I ask because pretty much every woman I’ve spoken to since I’ve started online dating has been surprised or confused when I tell them I never walk up to women and ask them for their numbers out of the blue.

Is it common? I almost never seen it happen that I’ve noticed, so I’m wondering if I’m missing out lol
