OneDrive: Sync a "shared with me folder"

I’m working on a project with friends, and we’ve been using my OneDrive folder for file storage. They sync it to their computers to edit files locally. However, for the past few days, they’ve been kicked out and can no longer sync the folders.

Did Microsoft restrict or disable shared folder syncing?
