Brushing Teeth is like pulling teeth!
HOW are you getting your kids to brush their teeth?
We’ve always had good dental hygiene, brushed his teeth since he’s had teeth. Explained why we look after teeth, what happens when we don’t, gingivitis, how bad teeth can affect you when you’re older etc etc.
None of it works! I’ve tried asking why he doesn’t do it and why he doesn’t care more and it’s not even a sensory thing (he’s adhd).
He tells me he forgets, but when I ask him if he brushed his teeth, he’ll lie and say yes (when I know he hasn’t), so I know its not just because he forgets as he’d be like ‘oh no’,!and run to do it, plus he spends so much time in the bathroom fixing his hair with the toothbrush right there!
Please send me more suggestions so I don’t lose my mind. His teeth are visibly yellowing which we tell him, his breath can be awful, which we tell him, and he’s told me friends at school have told him too.
It’s mental because he does have great hygiene other than teeth and they’re so important - I can’t drop the ball on this for him because he’ll be the one who pay’s for it as an adult when it’s too late.
