Driving Licence - should I be pissed off?

Hey, hope ye’re all well. Just kinda pissed off at the moment ahahaha. So my uncle who’s in his 50’s has been told he’ll have to retake his driving test since returning home from the states. Having passed his Irish test in the 80’s this just seems ridiculous to me. Especially when we allow Ukrainians to drive their cars on our roads when they too drive on the right and their cars are the opposite to our own. Genuinely would feel like you’d be driving into a hedge. Am I being petty or do I have the right to be pissed off ahahaha. Such bureaucracy in this country and one rule for one and another for the rest of us 😡
