Appeasing the Landlord

U-hauling was something all your friends and family warned you against. Maybe you were certain that the love between you and your new girlfriend would be strong enough to conquer all, but this is the third consecutive month you've been late on rent, and your backstory clearly isn't my concern when I come knocking ever-so-loudly for the third and final time this month. Now all you can do is sit, hold your poor girlfriend's hair back and listen to her choke and gag while she gives me a real reason to let the two of you keep squatting on my property without paying me.

No Free Rides

It being so late, and the rain coming down heavy as lead, it was impossible to get an Uber. You and your bestie might've thought better about clubbing tonight, but life was short! A little change in the weather just meant you'd have to improvise. It went over smooth - too smooth - when you stuck out your thumb and a big friendly man in a big truck pulled over to do his kind act for the day. Of course, once I pull down a side road and kill the engine, it becomes clear I'm expecting some compensation. Academic Dishonesty

I really thought college students would have left this mentality behind, but lo and behold, I found something very interesting when grading your Economics midterm: all of your essay questions have the exact same answer, word-for-word, as another student's. I made it clear early on that I had a 0-tolerance policy for cheating, and would do my damnedest to get any offender expelled. It being both of your last year, I presume one or both of you just couldn't be bothered to give this test your full effort.
