Port discomfort

Hello everyone! I had my port placed last Friday and I have my first chemo this Friday (carbo/taxol). Now, my issue is that since having the port placed I have a constant ache in the side of my neck/throat on the same side as the port. I asked my care team yesterday if it's normal and they said yes. Does this ache go away or do I just have to raw dog it for the duration of having the port? There is some discomfort with swallowing, hiccups, and if I laugh too much. Any advice or experiences would be awesome! Thank you so much!
