Shows for Americans?

Am I the only one that nearly always skips to the next show when it becomes obvious a show is written with an American audience in mind. For example Amazon prime keeps trying to get me to watch Reacher. But I can no longer even remotely relate to whatever Jack Reacher is meant to be.
