BADANG Banned?!!

Im a badang main with over 7k ranked matches playin for like 6 years and never once have I seen him bein banned maybe like with 2 exceptions, what changed? just got back 2 days ago cuz I usually play a month and skip 2 sometimes more and surprisingly he is either banned or first picked almost every game??! I checked the patch notes and they made his 1 faster yeh but the ult is 10 secs more!! why is he considered a meta rn what changed and since when, been out for 6 months so forgive me for bein a bit slow if thats the case but I used to leave him for last pick as I was sure he wasnt wanted, what happened?!
