Deck half-wall is settling, sinking, and pulling away from the main house. Any ideas for short/long term solutions?

Issue 1: Drainage from that chain downspout.

  • Short term: tarp a channel away from the deck wall
  • Longer term: Catch basin in a planter or barrel? Rocks and a ramp?
    • Looking for:
      • affordable/effective option (ie can be ugly)
      • whatever works well with Issue 2
    • Avoiding: digging (so no french drain or swale) & not interested in a $$ rain barrel (wouldn't use the water), but that could be an upgrade option later on

Issue 2: Erosion under the wall, causing the settling & damage to the wall

  • No idea what to do to stop / rectify the erosion or even where to start honestly.
  • What do you recommend as a short term solution? What's a ballpark $?
  • Long term solution? Ballpark $?
  • Do I need a structural engineer for this? Any specialties or keywords I should look for to find the right kind of SE for this kind of work?
