Weight Loss Post-Op
I'm 4 weeks post-op from my total hysterectomy, left oophorectomy, and bilateral salpingectomy. My quality of life is infinitely better now! I had stage 4 endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids, endometriomas, ovarian cysts, etc. My pathology was all clear and negative.
Within the first ten days, I lost 10 pounds, which honestly was bloat from all the endometriosis. But beyond those first 10 days, I keep losing weight daily. It's a small amount, but the scale continually goes down daily.
I thought maybe something was wrong with my scale. At home, I weigh myself every morning without clothes. Before I went to a doctor appointment this week, I weighed myself. I immediately went to my appointment and actually weighed less WITH clothes on at the doctors office than I did at home just an hour prior without clothes on. So my scale is definitely not tricking me because it's telling me I weigh more than I actually do.
I'm not complaining about my weight loss. It's just been a pleasant surprise side effect because now my clothes are starting to fit me again. I just thought most women gained weight after a hysterectomy, especially if an ovary is removed, so I was fully prepared to have to start buying a new wardrobe with bigger sizes.
Have any of you experienced consistent weight loss without trying post-hysterectomy?
