Thinkpad T420: The hard drive installed in OptiBay stops being recognized after exiting the hibernation/sleep mode

I installed the HDD in the dvd drive bay. I noticed a feature that after coming out of sleep mode, the hard disk stops being detected until a cold reboot is performed. Windows power settings are not affected by this behavior. I have a locked bios, maybe there is some kind of setting? Or is this normal (although I don't think it is)?
