Question About Damage

Hello fellow hunters. I have a question about the DPS and combo damage.

I was testing things out in the training area. Equipped as base greatsword, and a base pair of duel blades.

It seems like I'm missing something, because the damage output of the greatsword is a good bit less than the duel blades. I tested it on some higher level weapons, but it's just as bad.

Yes I know, "use the what feels right, ignore meta."

But I like feeling as though I am doing hella damage, so when I see those small numbers coming in so slowly, where as the duel blades just tear things up, it doesn't feel good to me.

I really want to get into the greatsword. Played Dark Souls and Elden Ring for a loooooong time, and big, heavy weapons are my favorite. So my mains are gonna Duel Blades, Hammer, and hopefully Greatsword.
