Update to my job got outsourced: a rant

Discussion

I had posted 2 weeks ago that my job as a picc nurse was outsourced to another company. Yesterday was my last day as a picc nurse. The new company has a 4-8 hour turnaround time and only does piccs and midlines, no peripherals. I’m actually interested to see what happens, as the inpatient nurses really relied on us for ultrasound IVs. There are a few ultrasound trained nurses but mostly in the ER. There has also been no training of how to order a picc/midline through the new company. I hope it goes well but I have my doubts.

As for me, I got lucky and got an internal transfer to PACU. The nurse manager is super nice and understanding, and the schedule might fit with my families life better! The weirdest thing about this whole situation is being told you no longer have a job then having to continue doing that job 🤣

Keep your resumes updated! You literally never know what will happen.
