Do i have to complete the whole syllabus for history paper 2?

My teacher said that if i just do 80% of the first book(topic 11) and 20% of the second book(topic 12) and complete the whole book for paper 1, ill be fine. But is it really true? Btw i sincerely need a 7 in history and till now im getting 7 but im not sure ill be able to complete the entire syllabus😭 cos im on my 3rd quarter and i havent even complete paper 1 syllabus and only done one chapter in paper 2😭😭😭
