Going to Industry-Cell Therapy

I supervise a clinical Cellular Therapy Lab with 9 direct reports. It’s non profit and we are a 3rd party lab so we support 10-12 BMT programs. I’ve worked there for over 9 years and have been supervisor for almost 3 of those years.

I have a general bachelors of science and am working on my CABP cert. For reasons I don’t want to go into on this post I need to get out of the environment I’m in and there is no where to go within the company.

On more than one occasion I’ve been encouraged to go to industry. Just as I was getting ready to do that, there started to be all the lay offs but it doesn’t seem to be affecting the industry I would go into as much from what I’ve read, especially if I’m not going into research.

Any advice is much appreciated. I’m 40 with 2 kids so there is more risk than of if I were 29 with no family.
